With every new look, Julianne Hough tempts us to run to the mall for a fresh new outfit—and then to our hair salon to replicate that short layered cut.

Yesterday, the dancer-turned-actress was at it again with her Bibhu Mohapatra dress and crimped city-chic tresses. Her design of choice had an eye-catching indigo pattern and was artistically structured with a layered hemline and front zip. She added a ladylike touch with ankle-strap heels and was straight glowing with rouge-tinted cheeks. And, as always, those enviable baby blues were in full force.

Who ever decided that high heels were a prerequisite for going out probably never experienced the not-so-inspiring sensation of aching feet several hours into the evening. While heels definitely do the job at times, we also love going out on the town in flats. And why not? A gorgeous pair of flat-heeled boots can be just as elegant as killer pumps, and a lot more comfortable. Case in point: Miranda Kerr. The model extraordinaire donned this terrific pair of knee-high, flat-heeled boots to Gilt and Stuart Weitzman's celebration of the 5050 Boot 20th anniversary. The boots added a sophisticated, urban feel to her stunning, relaxed outfit, and reminded us to dare wear our flats out on the town this weekend
